The Components Of An MSP Staff
A Multiple Service Provider (MSP) employ techs with all the different skill sets that a business might need to support its IT infrastructure.
From low-level to high-level technicians, they represent a range of knowledge bases, including compliance, auditing, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and more. An MSP operates this way to make sure there is someone to cover every component of a given IT infrastructure.
The idea is that different problems require different solutions – some computer repairs don’t require a high-level technician to fix, and so it makes sense to have a range of skill sets on the team.
Most MSPs have a system by which they assess the type of network or computer problem you are having and then send out the technician who is best suited to handle that problem. This helps us to conserve our human resources, using them in the best possible way. As with all resources, it’s important to optimize their use.
If you think you may have gaps in your current IT services (or aren’t sure one way or another), it’s important to find out. While your hardware may be well taken care of, do you know if your software is up to date? You may have just undergone a seamless migration to the cloud, but are you sure you’re compliant? These are important questions to answer, and an MSP with a varied range of skillsets and knowledge bases will be able to do just that.
